I love to play blackjack. I’ll make up just about any excuse to take a trip somewhere close to a casino. I like the social aspects of the game and I like the strategy. It’s also easy enough for me to remember all the strategies and rules (as opposed the poker, which confuses the hell out of me).

People who play no strategy known to man may be loved by the casinos (I can’t even call some of it a strategy, because it appears to be completely random), but they make me crazy. Call me compulsive (yes, do – I admit it), but I have to learn something inside and out, take it apart and put it back together – especially if it involves money. I have studied the game of blackjack and while I’m not a professional and I simply don’t have what it takes to count cards, I almost always win money when I play. If I continuously lost money, I wouldn’t play, no matter how much I love it. In one of the first books I read on blackjack, the author said people who expect to lose money are suckers, and I took that to heart. I believed (and have since proven) that you can make money playing blackjack. I have a difficult time comprehending why someone would play a game they have made no effort to learn.

For new blackjack players, I hope this site is fun and you learn something. If you recognize yourself, then make an effort to improve. For experienced blackjack players, I am sure you can relate and I hope you get a good laugh.

Disclaimer: All the situations described in this blog are real. If you think you recognize yourself, get over it. I don’t bother to learn the names of people at the tables, so I’m not naming any names. Your friends will only know you were the idiot at the table if you tell them – and that’s entirely on you.
